UFC 100 sells out in record time
by Mike Williams on April 10, 2009

Tickets for the historic UFC 100 have sold out in near record time.  The July 11 event will be held at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and features two title fights.

“I started hearing about UFC 100 around UFC 90. I am blown away by how excited fans were for this event,” said UFC President Dana White. “So I made sure to stack this card with the greatest fights and greatest fighters in the world, and keep ticket prices consistent with our other big events. Once again, our fans responded with a record sellout. This is another great milestone for the UFC, and July 11 is going to be an amazing event.”

UFC offers internet presales of tickets to fans who pay a fee to register for UFC Fight Club.  The presale opened on April 9 and the seats were nearly gone by 3:00pm.  The sell out was officially announced today.

The event will be headlined by the much anticipated heavyweight rematch between current champion Brock Lesnar and interim champ Frank Mir.   The co-main event will feature welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre as he defends his title against number one contender Thiago Alves.
