UFC 101: "Declaration" Results

Welcome to FiveKnuckles.com live, blow-by-blow coverage of UFC 101: “Declaration” presented by Yahoo UFC PPV.

Tonight's card is coming to you live from the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, PA and features lightweight champion B.J. Penn, as he puts his lightweight title on the line against number one contender Kenny Florian. Also, middleweight champion Anderson Silva moves up a weight class to take on former light-heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin.

UFC 101 QUICK RESULTS:

UFC Lightweight Champion B.J. Penn vs. Kenny Florian:

Anderson Silva vs. Forrest Griffin: Silva wins by knockout at 3:23 of round 1

Shane Nelson vs. Aaron Riley: Riley wins by unanimous decision.

Amir Sadollah vs. Johny Hendricks: Hendricks wins by TKO at :29 of round 1

Kendall Grove vs. Ricardo Almeida: Almeida wins by unanimous decision.

Josh Neer vs. Kurt Pellegrino: Pellegrino wins by unanimous decision

Tamdan McCrory vs. John Howard: Howard wins by split decision

Thales Leites vs. Alessio Sakara: Sakara wins by split decision

Matt Riddle vs. Dan Cramer: Riddle wins by unanimous decision

George Sotiropoulos vs. George Roop: Sotiropoulos wins by submission (kimura) at 1:59 of round 2.

Jesse Lennox vs. Danillo Villefort: Lennox wins by TKO at 3:37 of round 3

UFC 101 Main Card Blow-By-Blow:

Josh Neer vs. Kurt Pellegrino

Round 1- Pellegrino pins Neer with an early slam and gets in Neer's guard.  He lands some moderate ground and pound as Neer loks for submissions.  Neer locks up an armbar but Pellegrino slams him and gets back on top.  Neer is active from his back but Pellegrino is maintaining control and keeps landing punches and elbows.  A good for Batman, who takes it 10-9.

Round 2- Neer lands a big leg kick to open the round.  Pellegrino throws a good combination then goes for a takedown.  Neer tries to sprawl but the Caped Crusader gets him to his back again and continues to land shots.  The battle continues on the ground as Pellegrino gains full mount then takes Neer's back.  He can't sink in the choke but keeps full control and dominates the round 10-9.

Round 3- They trade punches and kicks as the round begins until Pellegrino catches one of Neer's legs and scores another great takedown.  Neer continues to fight hard from his back but Pellegrino is relentless from the top.  Pellegrino mounts Neer but Neer pulls a quick reversal and does a lot of damage for the final 30 seconds but it's too little too late as Pellegrino wins the round and the fight.

Kendall Grove vs. Ricardo Almeida

Round 1- They clinch against the cage and stalemate for a minute or so until they break and Almeida lands a big right.  Almeida scores a takedown and lands in Groves guard.  The ground battle begins and Almeida gets Grove's back then lands some big knees to...
