UFC 101 officially complete
by Jacob Camargo on June 01, 2009

The UFC officially confirmed a lightweight bout between Aaron Riley and Shane Nelson as well as a middleweight bout between Thales Leites and Alessio Sakara thus making UFC 101 complete.

Thales Leites will be looking to erase memories of his disappointing loss against UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva at UFC 97. Prior to the loss, Leites had put together an impressive 5-fight win streak. Alessio Sakara hasn't fought since evening his UFC record to 4-4 by beating Joe Vedepo at UFC Fight Night 15. Sakara was previously set to fight at UFN 17 but he had to withdraw from the event due to injury.

Aaron Riley and Shane Nelson will be fighting each other for the second time at UFC 101 in an attempt to resolve issues from their first fight. Riley and Nelson first fought at UFC 96 back in March, with Nelson scoring a first round TKO over Riley, however, many, including UFC president Dana White, called the stoppage premature.

UFC 101 takes place on August 8 from the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia. The event will be headlined by a lightweight championship bout between current champ BJ Penn and number one contender Kenny Florian. In the co-main event, UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva will once again move up to the light heavyweight division to fight former UFC light-heavyweight champ and TUF 1 light-heavyweight winner, Forrest Griffin.
