UFC 104 weigh-in results

UFC 104: "Machida vs. Shogun" is officially set to go down as all but three of the 22 participants competing on tomorrow night's event made weight yesterday from the Live Event Deck in Los Angeles, Calif., as broadcast live via FiveKnuckles.com.

UFC 104 will take place tomorrow night, on Oct. 24, at the The Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif., and the event's main card will be televised on pay-per-view beginning at 10 p.m. ET.

The event is headlined by a UFC light-heavyweight title bout between current champion Lyoto Machida and challenger, Mauricio "Shogun" Rua. Machida weighed in at 202.5 pounds, which is well below the 205-lbs. limit. Rua tipped the scales at 204.5 pounds.

In the co-main event, heavyweight contenders Cain Velasquez and Ben Rothwell will battle it out, with the winner possibly earning a title shot. Rothwell tipped the scales at 265 pounds, while Velasquez weighed in considerably lower at 238 pounds.

There were two incidents of note at the weigh-in ceremony.

First up, both Josh Neer and Gleison Tibau missed weight for their lightweight bout, which is the first bout of the pay-per-view broadcast. Neer was a half pound over the 156-pound allowance at 156.5 pounds, and Tibau came in a full pound over at 157 pounds. Both fighters have agreed to go ahead and fight at their respective weights, without any additional weight cutting.

Also, it was rumored that Anthony Johnson had trouble cutting weight. That rumor is, indeed, accurate as he came in at 176 pounds - five pounds over the 171-pound limit, for his main card welterweight bout against Yoshiyuki Yoshida.

According to UFC commentator Joe Rogan, Johnson and his camp had already notified Yoshida that he would be coming in over the weight limit. Yoshida, who weighed in right at 170 pounds, agreed to take the fight, and Johnson has been fined 20 percent of his purse for missing weight - 10 percent goes to his opponent and the other 10 percent will go to the California State Athletic Commission.
