UFC 106: "Ortiz vs. Griffin II" is officially set to go down as all 20 participants competing on tomorrow night's event successfully made weight without incident earlier today at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, NV.
UFC 106 takes place tomorrow, on Nov. 21, at the same venue, and the event's main card will be televised on pay-per-view beginning at 10 p.m. ET.
In addition, the Spike TV broadcast of two select UFC 106 preliminary card bouts, which features a middleweight bout between Kendall Grove and Jake Rosholt as well as a welterweight bout between Marcus Davis and Ben Saunders, begins an hour prior to the PPV start time at 9 p.m. ET.
The event is headlined by a light-heavyweight rematch between former 205-pound champions Tito Ortiz and Forrest Griffin. There appeared to be no love lost between the two, as they engaged in a heated staredown. Both men registered under the 206-pound light-heavyweight limit, as Ortiz came in at 204 lbs and Griffin tipped the scales at 205 lbs.
In the co-main event, welterweight contenders Josh Koscheck and Anthony Johnson will look to inch closer to a title shot when they face each other Saturday night. Both men also looked anxious to fight, as they shared an intense face-to-face staredown. Johnson had no trouble making weight this time around, as he came in at 170 pounds with Koscheck weighing in at 171 lbs.
Other bouts on the main card include a welterweight showdown between up-and-comers Paulo Thiago and Jacob Volkmann. Also, Pride veteran Antonio Rogerio Nogueira will make his highly anticipated UFC debut against Luiz Cane and Phil Baroni returns to the Octagon to take on TUF 7 winner Amir Sadollah in the first bout on the televised main card.
