UFC 107 boasted many good fights, but the night also ended with many injuries. On Tuesday, the Tennessee Athletics gave out medical suspensions for UFC 107.
As of Dec. 13, the medical suspensions are as follows:
Diego Sanchez: Suspended for 60 days (60 days no contact) and must undergo a CT scan and be cleared by a doctor
Frank Mir: Suspended for three days (three days no contact) for precautionary reasons
Cheick Kongo: Suspended for three days (three days no contact) for precautionary reasons
Jon Fitch: Suspended for 60 days (60 days no contact) for precautionary reasons, unless cleared by a doctor
Kenny Florian: Suspended for 60 days (45 days no contact) due to a cut, but can be cleared by a doctor earlier
Clay Guida: Suspended 180 days (180 days no contact) due to a possible eye injury, but can be cleared early by an ophthalmologist; if cleared by ophthalmologist, suspended for 45 days (30 days no contact) for precautionary reasons, but can be cleared earlier by a doctor
Paul Buentello: Suspended indefinitely until ribs are x-rayed and cleared by a doctor; regardless, suspended 30 days with (21 days no contact) for precautionary reasons
Alan Belcher: Suspended for 30 days (21 days no contact) for precautionary reasons
Wilson Gouveia: Suspended for 45 days (30 days no contact) for precautionary reasons; can be cleared earlier by a doctor
Matt Wiman: Suspended for 180 days (180 days no contact) due to a possible injury, but can be x-rayed and cleared early by a doctor; but if not cleared, suspended for 30 days (21 days no contact) for precautionary reasons
Shane Nelson: Suspended for 14 days (14 days no contact) due to a cut, but can be cleared early by a doctor
Johny Hendricks: Suspended three days with no contact for three days for precautionary reasons
Ricardo Funch: Suspended for 45 days (30 days no contact) for precautionary reasons, but can be cleared early by a doctor
Rousimar Palhares: Suspended for three days (three days no contact) for precautionary reasons
Lucio Linhares: Suspended for three days (three days no contact) for precautionary reasons
DaMarques Johnson: Suspended for three days (three days no contact) for precautionary reasons
Edgar Garcia: Suspended for 30 days (21 days no contact) for precautionary reasons, but can be cleared early by a doctor
Kevin Burns: Suspended for 45 days (30 days no contact) for precautionary reasons
UFC 107 took place on Dec. 12, in Memphis, TN. The night featured a relentless B.J. Penn retaining his lightweight belt over Diego Sanchez; a fast first-round submission victory for heavyweight Frank Mir over Cheick Kongo; and a bloody victory for Kenny Florian over fellow lightweight Clay Guida.
