UFC 111 Betting Odds
by Ben Zeidler on March 25, 2010

Online betting can be a difficult proposition. I'm here to make it a bit more palatable and hopefully try to win you some... umm... units. Below you'll find my breakdown of 111. Let's begin.

St. Pierre (-700) vs. Hardy (+450): I don't remember seeing odds this high since GSP took on Serra. However, I'm not suggesting that lightning will strike twice...not at all. Yes, GSP will win this but the oddsmakers have made it so that the investment needed to win anything is huge. We all know what is going to happen, but it's not even worth the bet.

No bet.

Mir (-150) vs. Carwin (+120): I really like the odds on Carwin here. He's got a very similar skill set to that of Lesnar, and I don't think he's careless enough to get subbed. I see this fight as an even match, with Carwin holding the slight edge. As a result, the Carwin underdog line has me excited.

Bet 1 unit to win 1.2 units.

Almeida (-155) vs. Brown (+125): All signs point to an Almeida submission victory but let's not count Brown out quite yet. He's 4-1 in the UFC and has been steadily improving under the tutelage of Silva. I like the play on Brown here, believe it or not. I think his ability to gameplan is some of the best in the sport.

Bet 1 unit to win 1.25 units.

Palhares (-250) vs. Drwal (+200): Drwal has seen somewhat of a resurgence as of late (3 straight wins) but Palhares jits is too slick. Palhares with the submission victory, but I don't like the numbers.

No bet.

Miller (-400) vs. Bocek (+300): Miller should win this thing going away, thanks to his outstanding technical skill. However, the -400 is enough to scare me away. It should scare you, too.

No bet.

Riddle (-230) vs. Soto (+180): Soto's got the better BJJ degree and believe it or not, more experience in MMA (although not in the UFC - this is his debut). Upset special right here.

Bet 1 unit to win 1.8 units.

Pellegrino (-230) vs. Camoes (+180): I like Camoes a good deal but I don't think he's ready to face the caliber of fighter than Pellegrino is. I see Pellegrino's wrestling carrying him to a decision win, although the odds aren't enough to get me involved. If this goes under -200 for Pellegrino, then get involved. Until then...

No bet.

 |  (6) Comments Ares: It'll be interesting to see if lines are opened on Saunders/Fitch now that is going ahead, I'd like to see how much of an underdog they place Saunders as. investwithsports.com: GL on the picks. justinmw2008: well i think it is a good fight card hard is a small kid but he lifs 500lbs for his size that good and gsp well run threw him but if he trys to satnd with hardy it is gonig to be light out for gdp im gonig hardy i think mir vs carwine i think mir is going to try to put pressure on carwine and try to take him down and win the fight there The Hitman: i just realized how excited i am for this event. ricardo vs. brown should be a great fight. even without alves vs. fitch this event is going to be sick Anthony: But isn't Drwal like twice Palhares' size - and you're getting those kind of odds? Mickey knox: I'm picking every underdog on this list except for Jim Miller.
