UFC 114 LIVE ROUND BY ROUND COVERAGE

Diego Sanchez vs. John Hathaway

round 1- A Sanchez left and a Hathaway leg kick land simultaneously to start the fight. Sanchez looks for a takedown but Hathaway denies him. They work against the cage where Hathaway lands a nice elbow in close then they break and head for the center of the octagon. Hathaway lands a nice straight right. Sanchez tries to shoot again but eats a huge knee that was timed perfectly by Hathaway. Sanchez is rocked and on his back. Hathaway is trying to finish him but can't land anything cleanly. Sanchez gets him in his guard and controls his head. Hathaway gets free and postures up where he lands some good punches. The battles continues on the ground with Hathaway landing some nice shots until the round ends in a 10-9 for Hathaway.

round 2-
Hathaway comes out with confidence and Sanchez is looking stiff and robotic. Hathaway is landing some punches then Sanchez answers with an overhand right then a straight left. A Hathaway kick is caught by the Nighmare who subsequently takes Hathaway to the mat. He's unable to do any damage before Hathaway works back to his feet. They're clinched at the cage then they break with 2 minutes remaining where Hathaway lands a nice 1-2 right away. The action isn't exactly furious but the pace is steady with Hathaway holding the advantage in the standup. Sanchez lands a nice right then Hathaway responds with a great right. Another Sanchez right is answered by Hathaway and they exchange a wild flurry as the round ends. We're scoring another 10-9 for Hathaway.
