Thiago Silva's post fight drug test at UFC 125 was inconsistent with human urine, according to MMAJunkie.com.
Silva's post fight sample came into question when his "A" sample drew red flags from the testing agency. The "B" sample was then also tested and it confirmed the findings of the first.
The Nevada State Athletic Commission executive director Keith Kizer was the one to relay the findings to MMAJunkie.com. Kizer then stated that Silva will be suspended until a hearing before the commission on April 7, at which point he will need to address the situation.
Silva's "A" sample produced an invalid result that was inconsistent with human urine when tested by the NSAC. The commission then sent the sample to the Sports Medicine and Research Laboratory. They confirmed the findings.
They have concluded that Silva submitted a sample with "an adulterated and/or substituted specimen for testing for the urinalysis."
Silva defeated Brandon Vera by unanimous decision at UFC 125 and was already scheduled to take on Quinton Jackson at UFC 130 when news of the first sample broke. Silva was subsequently pulled from the card while the second batch of tests could be run.
