Ricardo Almeida (13-4) vs. Mike Pyle (20-7-1) and Kurt Pellegrino (15-5) vs. Gleison Tibau (21-7) will be broadcast live on Facebook.com during UFC 128 on March 19th, according to MMAJunkie.com.
The news was first reported by Kurt Pellegrino on yesterday's MMAJunkie.com Radio program.
The UFC began showing bouts on their Facebook page leading up to UFC Fight Night 23 and have continued the practice every event since then. Fans must "Like" the UFC on Facebook in order to view the fights.
Almedia/Pyle and Pellegrino/Tibau will most likely begin at 8 p.m. EST and lead up to the Spike Prelims at 9.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt Ricardo Almedia will look to make it five wins in six fights when he steps in the cage with Pyle. In his most recent outing he bested T.J. Grant via unanimous decision at UFC 124. Prior to that a loss to Matt Hughes at UFC 117 snapped a three fight win streak inside the Octagon.
His opponent Mike Pyle hopes to capitalize on one of his best fights to date when he beat renowned British prospect John Hathaway at UFC 120. It was his second victory in a row with the UFC. The Xtreme Couture based fighter has accumulated a career 3-2 record with the promotion.
Kurt "Batman" Pellegrino will fight for the first time since his unanimous decision loss to George Sotiropoulos at UFC 116. The bout was his first loss since 2008, a run that saw him reel off four straight victories with the UFC. A win over Tibau would put Pellegrino right back in the thick of the lightweight title picture.
The massive Gleison Tibau hopes to rebound after a disappointing loss to Jim Miller at UFC Fight Night 22. After years of setbacks and struggles many believed that the Brazilian had finally put all of his tools together and was on the verge of contending in the lightweight division, but the setback to Miller knocked Tibau back down the totem pole.
UFC 128 features a light heavyweight title fight between Mauricio Rua and Jon Jones.
