Welcome to FiveKnuckles' live coverage of UFC 137: "Penn vs. Diaz" brought to you by Yahoo! UFC Pay Per View. Tonights card is coming to you live from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and although it's been marred by injuries and changes it features some spectacular matchups. Two of the more polarizing characters in the sport, BJ Penn and Nick Diaz, will square off in the main event and Matt Mitrione hopes to take a big step on the heavyweight ladder as he takes on the veteran Cheick Kongo.

B.J. Penn vs. Nick Diaz - Diaz wins by unanimous decision.
Cheick Kongo vs. Matt Mitrione - Kongo wins by unanimous decision.
Hatsu Hioki vs. George Roop - Hioki wins by split decision.
Mirko Filipovic vs. Roy Nelson - Nelson wins by TKO at 1:30 of round 3.
Jeff Curran vs. Scott Jorgensen - Jorgensen wins by unanimous decision.
Dennis Siver vs. Donald Cerrone - Cerrone wins by submission (rear naked choke) at 2:22 of round 1.
Bart Palaszewski vs. Tyson Griffin - Palaszewski wins by KO at 2:45 of round 1.

UFC 137 LIVE PLAY BY PLAY
Hatsu Hioki vs. George Roop
round 1- Hioki lands a left high kick but not a terribly hard one. Roop tags Hioki with a good left. Hioki drops for a takedown but fakes and lands a quick left. Roop lands a groin kick and they take a quick break. Hioki shoots but Roob gets his back to the cage where they fight for position from the clinch. They're trading knees and some dirty boxing. Hioki drops for a takedown again but Roop fights out of it again then Hioki plants Roop on his back with a nice trip/ throw. Hioki in side control and Roop is fighting from his back. Roop scrambles to his feet and lands a few punches but the Hioki dominant position wins the round on our card 10-9.
round 2- Roop comes out with a high kick but it only grazes Hioki. Roop lands a really good job then another head kick. Hioki rushes and scores another takedown, this time directly to full mount. Roop battles from his back and before Hioki loses the position he transitions to side control and starts looking to isolate an arm. Hioki gets back to full mount where he lands a couple of elbows. Roop doesn't seem to have any answers for Hioki's top game but he's working. Roop gets a knee up but Hioki flattens it out and keeps the position. Roop works himself free and lands a good upkick then fights until the bell but it's too little too late as Hioki wins the round 10-9.
