Mark Hominick returns to action against Eddie Yagin and lightweights Mark Bocek and Matt Wiman set to scrap at UFC 145.
Hominick (20-10) was on the road back to title contention when he stepped in as the heavy favorite against Chan-Sung Jung at UFC 140. However anyone can win on any given day and "The Korean Zombie" proved just that when he floored an aggressive Hominick with a counter cross, ending the bout in just seven seconds. Hominick will look to get back on the win column with a win over Yagin.
Yagin (15-5-1) debuted with the UFC at UFC 135 against Junior Assuncao, losing via unanimous decision. Prior to the loss, Yagin captured the vacant Tachi Palace Fights featherweight title when he submitted Joe Soto with a guillotine choke in the first round. Yagin is 2-1 in his last three fights.
Also added on the card is Bocek vs. Wiman.
Bocek (10-4) last fought Nik Lentz to a unanimous decision victory at UFC 140. The TriStar Gym product has been unable to find consistency as of late, going 2-2 over four fights and unable to string wins together. Bocek also holds triangle choke submission win over Dustin Hazellett at UFC 124.
Wiman (14-6) will look to build on his unanimous decision win over Mac Danzig at UFC Live: Cruz vs. Johnson. As evident in the Danzig bout and in a fight with Cole Miller at UFC: Fight For The Troops 2, Wiman is able to set a relentless pace on his opponents. Wiman has won four Fight of the Night awards and also holds wins over UFC notables in Thiago Tavares and Michihiro Omigawa.
UFC 145 is set for March 24, 2012 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec.
