The UFC has officially announced the fight card for UFC 97: Redemption. After a brief scare involving some rules changes by Canadian officials the UFC event will take place at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on April 18.
The main event features a match-up between the ever exciting Anderson Silva as he defends his title against Thales Leites.
Silva (23-4), who is coming off of an admittedly sub-par performance in a victory against Patrick Cote in his last outing, is very focused displaying the dominance that has made him one of the most feared champions in all of MMA. According to those close to Silva, he's been highly motivated in training to erase the memory of his last fight.
Leites (14-1), who is currently riding a five fight winning streak, comes in as a heavy underdog as he looks to unseat the most dominant champion in the UFC today.
