UFC middleweights Rob Kimmons and Chris Camozzi cut after losses
by Tim Groves on March 23, 2011

The UFC has cut middleweights Rob Kimmons and Chris Camozzi following their most recent losses. MMAJunkie.com confirmed the Kimmons cut, while Camozzi posted the news on his website.

"According to the UFC the issue is less about my performance (they offered to give me a recommendation) and more to do with an overloaded roster and not enough fights for us under contract," Camozzi said. "This has nothing to do with the recent merger. My management company will be targeting shows like Strikeforce and MFC after we get a win."

The Camozzi cut is rather surprising considering it was his first loss with the promotion. The Colorado native won his first two appearances inside the Octagon before he got choked out by Kyle Noke at UFC 127

Kimmons lost two in a row to Dongi Yang and Kyle Noke. The Rosedale Reaper was 3-4 during his stint with the promotion.

 |  (6) Comments Marker28: Wow, just when the ufc gets us use to cutting fighters within a week after their loss, Dana pulls this one. He never ceases to amaze me. Wandering_Minstrel: Not surprised that Kimmons was cut. Slightly surprised that Camozzi was cut. HOWEVER, if you look carefully, they explained it pretty well and I expect we'll see him back pretty soon. Keith Mondaca: I've never been a fan of the cuts. Wish UFC gave their fighters guaranteed contracts, doesn't seem too fair.
