UFC newcomer Chris Weidman will replace injured Rafael Natal, faces Alessio Sakara
by Tim Groves on February 14, 2011

Alessio Sakara now has his third opponent for UFC on Versus 3: Chris Weidman.

The 4-0 fighter will make his promotional debut against the hard hitting Italian slugger, according to Heavy.com.

Weidman is based out of Team Serra. A very decorated collegiate wrestler, Weidman defeated both Ryan Bader and Phil Davis during his college career. Weidman has adapted his wrestling very nicely into MMA and added a dangerous Jiu Jitsu game as well.

He fought a spirited match against Andre Galvao at the 2009 Abu Dhabi Submission Grappling tournament. Weidman eventually lost the bout on points, but he had the Brazilian in multiple tight spots.

The UFC on Versus 3 card is headlined by a welterweight showdown between Diego Sanchez and Martin Kampmann.
