Australian-based light-heavyweight James Te Huna will make his Octagon debut against UFC sophomore Igor Pokraja at UFC 110 in February. News of the bout was first reported by Fighters Only.
Te Huna (11-4), who signed with the UFC last month, is riding a five-fight winning streak into the Octagon, with his past four wins coming by knockout. He most recently defeated former UFC fighter Anthony Perosh via first round knockout at CFC 10 on Aug. 21 in Australia. Te Huna has finished nine of his 11 career wins including six by TKO.
The King of the Cage and Xtreme Fighting Championship veteran holds notable career wins over the likes of Antony Rea and Edwin Aguilar, while suffering two of his four career losses against top level opponents in UFC fighter James Lee and Bellator middleweight champion Hector Lombard.
Pokrajac made news recently after his close friend, Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic, dismissed him from his post as his top sparring partner. The Croatian dismissed Pokrajac due to his desire to drastically change his camp.
Pokrajac (21-6) most recently was defeated in his UFC debut by Vladimir Matyushenko in September at UFC 103. Prior to the loss, he put together an eight fight winning streak to gain the UFC's attention, earning stoppages in seven of those wins.
The six-year veteran has finished 18 of his 21 career wins and hasn't fared too well against top competition in his career, suffering losses to UFC veteran Assuerio Silva and former EliteXC fighter Mamed Khalidov
The as of yet unannounced UFC 110 event is tentatively set for Feb. 21 at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia and will likely be headlined by an explosive middleweight bout between Wanderlei Silva and Yoshihiro Akiyama.
Also slated for the event is a heavyweight battle between sluggers Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic and Ben Rothwell, and a middleweight bout between Nate Marquardt and Chael Sonnen.
