UFC on FX 2 quick results, Johnson vs McCall result overturned to a majority draw
by Hubert Lau on March 02, 2012

UFC on FX 2 is in the books. The main event featured a come from behind win for Martin Kampmann who submits Thiago Alves via guillotine choke in the third round. Also featured on the main card were flyweights, Joseph Benavidez fighting Yasuhiro Urushitani. Benavidez wins early in the second round, TKO-ing Urushitani. Constantinos Philippou also notches a unanimous decision victory over TUF 11 winner, Court McGee.

The other fight on the FX card was Demetrious Johnson fighting Ian McCall. The original ruling of a majority decision win for Johnson was overturned to a majority draw after an error in calculating the scorecards were made according to mmamania.com. The two will rematch sometime in the future but such a snafu could have been avoid had the points been correctly tallied, since the UFC implemented a sudden death round to ensure a winner in the fight.

 |  (14) Comments Giada Esposito: It's pretty ironic that they miscounted the scores and there was no sudden death round for McCall and Johnson after they had specifically added them for this event. Someone needs to get slapped. Hizoka: not only do the judges make bad calls, they even fail at adding 3 numbers together... arlovskiviako: Wouldn't those scores be a majority decision? jus sayin mike5k: This whole thing is starting to smell a little bit.
