UFC reportedly signs Norwegian heavyweight Jon Olav Einemo
by Tim Groves on March 07, 2011

Jon Olav Einemo has been signed by the UFC, according to Fighters Only Magazine.

The news was broken via a press release by Golden Glory which included the following passage:

“John Olaf Einemo also signed this week with the UFC. After a long battle with health the Scandinavian Viking is back and ready to make up for lost time. Look out UFC, you've just been put on notice."

The 35-year old Einemo has a 7-1 career record. His only loss came via decision to Fabricio Werdum back at Pride 31. The Norwegian trains out of Golden Glory with notable strikers Alistair Overeem, Semmy Schilt and Sergei Kharitonov. Einemo was one of the first Europeans to be awarded a BJJ black belt and has competed against grappling greats Roger Gracie and Alexandre Ribeiro.

There was no report on his first fight with the promotion.
