The UFC has decided to rescind the release of light heavyweight Brandon Vera in light of the uncertainty about Thiago Silva's post fight drug test, according to FiveOuncesofPain.com.
The promotion originally released Vera after his third loss in a row to Thiago Silva at UFC 125. Recently it has been discovered that one of Silva's post fight drug tests came back positive, while the other is still being looked at. Silva was subsequently pulled from his bout with Quinton Jackson at UFC 130.
It also seems as if the Nevada State Athletic Commission may change the ruling of the January 1st bout between Vera and Silva to a "No contest", if it is assured that Silva tested positive for performance enhancing drugs.
While Vera is back on the roster, he currently does not have a fight scheduled with the promotion. After the fight with Silva, it was evident that he had suffered a severely broken nose, which he may still be nursing.
