The UFC has signed Undefeated King of the Cage champion Rory MacDonald to a multi-fight contract. Financial terms were not readily available, however, the contract is set for four fights.
News of Macdonald's signing to the UFC came from his coach, David Lea of Team Toshido MMA in British Columbia, who announced the signing on the popular MMA forum, The Underground.
Macdonald will be competing in the UFC's stacked welterweight division and is expected to make his Octagon debt in January.
The young fighter is fresh off of a second round knockout win over Nick Hinchliffe at KOTC: "Disturbed" on Sept. 25. The 20-year old has fought for the majority of his career with King of the Cage, fighting seven of his nine career career contests with the promotion.
The Canadian has put together a 9-0 MMA record since tuning pro four years ago. All of his nine career wins have come via stoppage including five by submission and the other four by TKO or KO. He holds a notable win over well traveled veteran Clay French.
