After a visit to the doctor, Scott Junk may never get another opportunity to fight. Since his fight against Matt Mitrione, Junk had been seeing dots in his eye. The doctor diagnosed him with two tears in his left retina, and told him that he could never fight again. Junk opted for laser surgery to correct the tears, but due to the violent nature of mixed martial arts, he was cautioned never to fight again because it could re-tear very easily. The cause of the tears came from an eye poke from Mitrione during their preliminary fight.
Upon hearing the news of Junk's injury, Marcus Jones starts thinking: "what if that was me?" When Jones arrived at the gym, he found Mitrione, approached him, and threatened him.
