In the first installment of video blogs this week, leading up to his UFC 106 rematch fight against Forrest Griffin on Nov. 21, Tito Ortiz takes the opportunity to call out Griffin again:
"In his head, he just wants to show up and get paid," said Ortiz. "And I'm on a total different end of the spectrum. To me, it's all about my run to the title again. I wanna win my title back."
Over the past few weeks, Ortiz has made many comments questioning Griffin's heart and dedication, using his last loss - and subsequent running out of the Octagon - to Anderson Silva as a way of pressing the issue. Ortiz may not like Griffin, however, he may also be using this method to help him focus on the upcoming fight.
Their first fight, which took place in April 2006 saw Ortiz leave the victor via split decision. He is hoping to make their rematch just as entertaining for the fans.
On one side of his gym, Ortiz has a wall-size painting of him punching Griffin in the face during their last fight. The painted wall is one of the walls that encloses Ortiz's makeshift Octagon.
Currently, Ortiz is sitting at 220 lbs., and needs to drop another 15 pounds to make weight for the fight in a week and a half.
