Video: WEC 48: "Aldo vs. Faber" preview
by Natalia Baage on March 19, 2010

A big featherweight match up is coming, and UFC President Dana White predicts that it will be the best one in 145-lbs. history.

April 24 will mark the date that Jose Aldo will meet Urijah Faber at WEC 48 in a much-anticipated fight. Aldo, who was named the best fighter of 2009 by Fight Magazine, will be putting his belt on the line for the first time, while Faber, who lost the title at the end of 2008, will be looking to recapture it.

WEC 48 will be the first pay-per-view card for the organization.

The main card consists of:

Jose Aldo vs. Urijah Faber (featherweight title fight)
Benson Henderson vs. Donald Cerrone (lightweight title fight)
Mike Brown vs. Manny Gamburyan
Anthony Njokuani vs. Shane Roller
Antonio Banuelos vs. Scott Jorgensen

 |  (20) Comments Mtx: Damn this is going to be a GREAT card. Can't wait for it :D mma3dge: already plan on buying. support the WEC and buy this fight. seriously the WEC ALWAYS delivers. GO HARD: that fight card gets me excited. q; o and theres a ton of great fights on this card. im excited bout those 3 plus anthony njokuani vs shane roller will be a dandy. Anthony: Don't ask me why, but Urijah Faber has the same effect on me that Rush Limbaugh says Marilyn Monroe had on him: He leaves me totally unmoved. Natalia Baage: Pettis is on the undercard again... DAMN IT!!!!! thug4less: What the Hell? Does that really say the featherweights fight at 135. Nat. You slippin'! Wandering_Minstrel: I got a chub. What a great fucking card. Kable: Mike Brown is gonna destroy Manny, Henderson vs Cerrone, no bloody idea lol I think Faber is gonna beat Aldo, He has never faced someone like Faber. what'd you guys think? The Hitman: looks like an amazing card. its like a strikeforce card where they just throw all their big guns and make them fight each other on the same night. i just hope the next few events dont suck after it like strikeforce sometimes GO HARD: my early predictions would be.... Aldo beating Urijah by lets say 1st round tko... Aldo hasnt fought anyone like Urijah, but even more so... Urijah has never faced anyone like Aldo. Aldo is greater at everything that Urijah is great at. i see Brown tko'n Manny. Manny is strong... but that Emerson KO always gets stuck in my head. I see Bendo winning another UD... however i want Cerrone to win by choke.. but is it possible to choke Bendo?!?!?! I see Anthony Njokuani defeating Shane Roller by KO and having to rematch the LW champ. (both Cerrone and Bendo defeated Njokuani by choke) and i got Jergonsen by TKO... illegalbloke: Let's see now. Jorgensen by 3rd degree burn. Kid's smoking hot. Mike Brown has this one. Rematch for Jose's belt if he impresses - more on that later. Heh. The man above me put Bendo. Here's hoping the cowboy can keep his ropes tight this time. Crazy number of 'ub escapes the first go. He's a toughie he is. But I nor anybody else is ever go'ng to say AMEN brother. Hold your rolly tongue on that one. Inte'esting main event. Could that be the reason I'm 'ooching this card when I should damn well be 'iewing it for free? Tough muffins I suppose. Versus is paying me back today at least (heh, paying me back for what?) When I first heard Alpo & Uwho were going at it in that very instant Chi vs Gun One came to mind. The chain of events is so close to those two it's crazy ridiculous. Jose Aldo, perfect record via stunning performance one after the other, just got the belt (Lyoto Machida), Urijah Faber, rising back to the top after a great lost & a great finish his last fight, went old school (Mauricio Rua), although Shogun didn't lose a belt you get it. It's so epic brother. But I know for a fact Aldo's walking away with that belt if he's not subbed or ko'd or tko'd. He won't lose two rounds the way he fights, if it goes that long. There you go then. mma3dge: Jorgenson will fight for the title soon I think. I had the same hunch ago about Jose Aldo. That seemed to turn out alright. GO HARD: i think jegenson will always fall one fight short... but im glad hes getting this rematch becuz i had him winning their last fight.
