FiveKnuckles.com was sent the official fighter payouts for WEC 41: "Brown vs. Faber 2" courtesy of the California State Athletic Commission. The event took place last night at the Arco Arena in Sacramento, CA.
The payout numbers pale in comparison to its UFC cousin, but these base salaries don't reflect locker room bonuses and sponsorship dollars so the actual figures could be substantially highter.
UFC transplants Jens Pulver and Manny Gamburyan pocketed the biggest paychecks at $31,000 and 26,960, respectively, according to the CSAC. Pulver took home the earned the most of any participant for his 33-seconds of work in a loss to 20-year-old up-and-comer Josh Grispi. Manny Gamburyan took out John Franchi in a three-round unanimous decision. Main event fighters, Mike Brown and Urijah Faber, trailed just behind Gamburyan at $25,256 and $25,790 respectively.
