The Nevada State Athletic Commission on Tuesday issued nine medical suspensions to fighters who competed on the WEC 45 fight card. The event took place on December 19 from The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, NV.
From the list of WEC 45 fighters issued medical suspensions, only one of the nine, Zachary Micklewright, who defeated Muhsin Corbbrey on the preliminary portion of the card was victorious.
Among those medically suspended, was main even competitor Ed Ratcliff, who was defeated via third round submission against Donad Cerrone. He is out until Jan. 19 for precautionary reasons. Cerrone did not receive a medical suspension.
Three WEC 45 fighters including Chris Horodecki, Zachary Micklewright and John Hosman face lengthy medical suspensions that require doctor's clearance.The injuries for the aforementioned fighters are a variety of both confirmed and potential fractures. Once individuals get clearance, their suspensions are lifted and they are free to resume competing. If they aren't cleared by a doctor their suspensions will run until June 8, 2010.
Horodecki's injuries occurred in his first-round TKO loss against Anthony Njokuani on the main card and Hosman's injury came during his unanimous decision loss to Chad George on the preliminary card.

Ed Ratcliff: Suspended until Jan. 19 with no contact allowed until Jan. 10 for precautionary reasons
Chris Horodecki: Suspended until June 8 due to right orbital and sinus fractures; can return after Jan. 19 if cleared by an ENT doctor
Rani Yahya: Suspended until Jan. 19 with no contact allowed until Jan. 10 for precautionary reasons
Zachary Micklewright: Suspended until June 8; can return after Jan. 20 if left elbow x-rayed and cleared by orthopedic doctor
Muhsin Corbbrey: Suspended until Feb. 3 with no contact allowed until Jan. 19 due to cut in right eyebrow
John Hosman: Suspended until June 8 due to possible nasal fracture; can return earlier if cleared by an ENT doctor
Courtney Buck: Suspended until Feb. 3 with no contact allowed until Jan. 19 for precautionary reasons
Kyle Dietz: Suspended until Jan. 19 with no contact allowed until Jan. 10 for precautionary reasons
Jameel Massouh: Suspended until Jan. 19 with no contact allowed until Jan. 10 for precautionary reasons
