WEC 46: "Varner vs. Henderson" is officially set to go down as all 20 participants competing in tomorrow night's event successfully made weight without incident earlier today from the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium in Sacramento, Calif.
WEC 46 takes place tomorrow, on Jan. 10, at the ARCO Arena in Sacramento, Calif., and the event's main card will be televised on the Versus network beginning at 9 p.m. EST.
The event will be headlined by a lightweight title unification bout between WEC lightweight champion Jamie Varner and interim lightweight titleholder Benson Henderson. Both made the 155-lbs. weight limit, as Varner came in right at 155 lbs., while Henderson weighed a little less at 154.5 pounds.
In the co-main event, popular former WEC featherweight champion Urijah Faber will take on rising contender Raphael Assuncao in a bout that could determine the next opponent for WEC featherweight champion Jose Aldo. Assuncao tipped the scales at 146 lbs., while Faber came in at 145.5 lbs.
Other bouts on the main card include a lightweight bout between talented prospects Dave Jansen and Kamal Shalorus. Also, former WEC featherweight champion Mike Brown will look to return to his winning ways when he faces WEC newcomer Anthony Morrison. Also, featherweight prospect Mackens Semerzier will meet IFL veteran Deividas Taurosevicius in the first bout on the main televised card.
