The event took place in conjunction with the Arnold Sports Festival.

WEC 47 kicks off tomorrow, on March 6, at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, and the event's main card will be televised on the Versus network beginning at 10 p.m. EST.

In the co-main event, former WEC bantamweight champion and pound-for-pound great Miguel Torres will look to get back on track when he faces rising contender Joseph Benavidez in a bout that could determine the next contender for the WEC bantamweight title. Benavidez tipped the scales at 135 lbs., and Torres came in at 134.5 lbs.

Other bouts on the main card include a featherweight bout between former UFC lightweight champion Jens Pulver and Javier Vazquez. Also, IFL veterans L.C. Davis and Deividas Taurosevicius will look to keep their winning streaks intact when they meet. In addition, lightweight prospect Karen Darabedyan will face IFL veteran Bart Palaszewski in the first bout on the main televised card.

Notable bouts featured on the stacked preliminary portion of WEC 47 include; WEC bantamweight contender Scott Jorgensen vs. Chad George, former WEC featherweight title contender Leonard Garcia vs. TUF 6 cast member George Roop, and undefeated featherweight prospect Chad Mendes against fellow prospect Erik Koch.
