by Jacob Camargo on July 27, 2009

With WEC 42 less then two weeks away, there has been a late change to the fight card as Kenji Osawa has withdrawn from his bantamweight bout against Rani Yahya due to a foot injury. WEC newcomer John Hosman will replace Osawa. News of the change comes via VERSUS.com.

Hosman is currently riding a five-fight win streak, with his most recent win coming against Courtney Landis at XFO 30 in May. He sports a 13-4-1 MMA record, with 7 wins coming way of submission and 4 by TKO or KO.

Yahya has won his last two bouts against Yoshiro Maeda at WEC 36 and most recently former WEC bantamweight champ Eddie Wineland at WEC 40 in April. Prior those wins, he lost two straight against Chase Beebe and Norifumi "Kid" Yamamoto respectively. Yahya sports a 14-4 MMA record, with an amazing 13 wins by submission and holds a notable career win over Mark Hominick.

WEC 42 takes place on August 9 in Las Vegas, Nevada and the main card will air live on VERSUS. The event will be headlined by a WEC bantamweight title fight between current champ Miguel Torres and challenger Brian Bowles.
