Wanderlei Silva has harsh words for Michael Bisping at UFC 110 press conference
by Joe Rimmer on February 18, 2010

The war of words between Wanderlei Silva and Michael Bisping continued to grow as the two men traded remarks at the UFC 110 pre-fight press conference.

Silva, 32-10-1, 1 NC, is promising a trademark stoppage victory and an entertaining fight for the fans in what will be his debut fight in the middleweight division.

"Now I'm more hungry," said 'The Axe Murderer'. "This is just my first fight in this division [185-lbs.] and I'm looking to have great fight."

The Brazilian added that he is looking forward to fighting the Brit on a personal level, as well as for the fans.

"I'm going to beat him. People love my style because I'm so aggressive. For this fight, I'm going to be more aggressive, because I really really don't like him."

Silva then declared an end to the talking, as actions will need to speak much louder than words in Sydney on Saturday. But the former Pride superstar couldn't resist a parting shot at his counterpart.

"UFC have the best fighters," said Silva. "We are going to put on a great show. Now we're going to stop with the talking. The talking is the most easy part of the show. He's talking a lot, I'm talking a lot. Now, we're going to see what's going to happen Saturday. Saturday we're going to have great show, and I'm going to kick your ass (looks over at Bisping)."

Bisping, 18-2, wasn't about to take the remarks quietly however, as he came back with his own promise.

"Obviously, there has been a lot of talk about this fight," said 'The Count'. "Wanderlei has been very vocal about me. Saying he doesn't like me and things like that. I've got nothing but respect for him as a fighter. Can't say I feel the same about him personally after some of the comments that I've heard.

"I'm looking forward to Saturday night. I think he is underestimating me. If he is, I think he is wrong. I am not underestimating him, I've trained very hard. I'm ready for the fight, ready for the challenge. I'll see you Saturday night (looks over at Wanderlei Silva)."

Bisping is no stranger to trash talk, having lit a fire underneath Dan Henderson during their time spent as coaches on "The Ultimate Fighter". Everybody remembers how that one turned out, as the Brit was knocked out in the second round.

However, after an impressive come-from-behind win against Denis Kang at UFC 105, Bisping appears confident of taking the scalp of Silva Down Under.

Silva comes into the fight off of a close decision loss to Rich Franklin at a catchweight of 195-lbs. Both men will be hoping to climb up the ladder in the middleweight division with a win.

 |  (4) Comments Mtx: Its weird seeing Bisping as the respectful one, he really seems to have learned his lesson. horizontalcracker: People who respond to Bisping generally think of him as his pre-Hendo knockout self that was a huge douche on TUF. If you've seen him speak since then he definitely seems to have been humbled. Watching UFC 100 I was incredibly happy to see him get KO'ed but now I'm actually a pretty big fan of Bisping. But yes, it's quite the change to see him not doing the trash talking. MAStudent: Whatever they did to his face, his game looked completely rejuvenated. I thought he looked good last night.
