"The Axe Murderer", Wanderlei Silva, replaces injured countrymen, Vitor Belfort, and is now set to fight Cung Le at UFC 139 according to ufc.com.
"Vitor is injured and out of San Jose fight. Now Cung Le will fight Wandy!" tweeted UFC president, Dana White.
Silva (33-11-1 (1 no contest)) is in a dire need for a win when he steps in to face Le. Silva, the former Pride middleweight champion and superstar, has been on a decline since his introduction into the UFC in late 2007. Sitting at a 2-4 record over six fights, last losing to Chris Leben via KO just 27 seconds into the opening round of UFC 132, many have questioned Silva's future in MMA.
Le (7-1) will be making his UFC debut after nearly a year's layoff. Le's last bout was a KO victory over Scott Smith at Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Werdum in mid 2010, avenging his only defeat when he loss to Smith in 2009. Le is also undefeated in his 17 kickboxing bouts.
Also slated for the November 19 event at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California is a bantamweight bout between two past titleholders in Brian Bowles fighting Urijah Faber. The main event pits a newly re-signed Dan Henderson looking to drop his H-bomb on Maurício Rua.
