"Well, the way it came about, I thought I was finishing the first book. I wrote an end to the book, but I found out when they give you a deadline, apparently they mean it. I didn't realize. So I called them up two weeks after the deadline and said, "I finished the book," and they said they didn't want it. So I had half a book and didn't know what to do with it. So now it's its own thing. This time around, I really want to control the title. I'm thinking, 'When S**t Goes Down You Better Be Ready: A Guide to the Apocalypse by Forrest Griffin.' I've always been a big fan of the apocalypse. I was sort of inspired by a book I read recently. It's called 'The Road,' by Cormac McCarthy. He's the guy who wrote the book 'No Country for Old Men.' It's pretty cool, you should check it out." - Forrest Griffin
After the success of Forrest Griffin's first book, "Got Fight?: The 50 Zen Principles of Hand-to-Face Combat," he can already see a second one in the making. So, fans, look out, there might be another one coming out in the future.
Griffin published his book in June 2009, two months before he fought Anderson Silva at UFC 101. In their light-heavyweight bout, Griffin was defeated by KO. Griffin fought again in 2009, at UFC 106 last month in a rematch with Tito Ortiz. Griffin came out the victor by split decision.
A long-time fan favorite, the former police officer is known for being comedic, sarcastic and self-deprecating. Before capturing the UFC light-heavyweight belt in July 2008, Griffin was the winner of SPIKE TV's first season of "The Ultimate Fighter."
Here are some quotes about Griffin's "Got Fight?":
Chuck Liddell: "I have to admit, 'Got Fight?' is a hilarious read that will undoubtedly make you more of a man (or at least Forrest thinks so)!"
Randy Couture: "Besides establishing himself as one of the top MMA fighters in the world, Forrest Griffin is one of the most unique personalities in our sport."
Joe Rogan: "Forrest is one of the funniest, most intelligent fighters I've ever had the privilege of talking to. His brutal honesty and self-deprecating sense of humor alone have made him one of the most loved fighters in the game."
