Winner of Rashad Evans vs. "Rampage" possible for Mauricio Rua
by Natalia Baage on May 09, 2010

Just before UFC 113, Dana White said that the four best fighters in the light-heavyweight division were fighting in the upcoming cards: Lyoto Machida and Mauricio Rua at UFC 113, and Quinton Jackson and Rashad Evans at UFC 114.

Now that the 205-lbs. division has a newly-crowned champion, it is possible that his next opponent will be the winner of the May 29 battle between the opposing The Ultimate Fighter 10 coaches.

On ESPN's MMA Live, White said that is was a definite possibility, but did not confirm that the winner of UFC 114 would face the winner of UFC 113 (Shogun). White could be waiting until after the next event to make his final decision, but he indicated that the fight could potentially be in the works.

Post-UFC 113, Whit spoke with MMAFighting about the possible match up:

"Obviously, more than likely, yes. One of those two are going to get to fight, get the shot at the title."
