Brad Tavares (7-0) will replace Jason Miller and face off against Aaron Simpson (8-2) at UFC 132, according to MMAJunkie.com.
UFC 132 takes place on July 2 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Simpson was originally slated to take on Bully Beatdown host Jason "Mayhem" Miller in his UFC return. Miller was then pegged as a coach for the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter against Michael Bisping, forcing him out of the event.
Now it has been revealed that Brad Tavares will replace him. Tavares is a former TUF contestant, competing during season 11. Tavares lost in the semifinals to eventual season champion Court McGee. Tavares was then brought back to compete on the season ending episode, where he defeated Seth Baczynski via unanimous decision. Tavares then returned at UFC 125 where he knocked out Phil Baroni.
Aaron Simpson will look to win two in a row following a two fight skid with the UFC. After beginning his UFC career 3-0, Simpson ran head first into Chris Leben and Mark Munoz, dropping two fights in a row. Virtually fighting for his job at UFC Fight Night 24, Simpson took on and defeated Mario Miranda via unanimous decision.
The fight between Simpson and Tavares is relegated to the unaired preliminary portion of the card.
The coaching spot alongside Michael Bisping opened up when the California State Athletic Commission voted to uphold their suspension of middleweight contender Chael Sonnen. With Sonnen without a license, the UFC was forced to select another caoch. Miller's antics and personality were the perfect fit for reality television.
UFC 132 features a bantamweight title fight between Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber.
