It did not take long for Houston Alexander to find a new place to fight after being dropped from the UFC following his decision loss against Kimbo Slice last month.
Alexander (9-5, 1 NC and 2-4 UFC) has an upcoming bout with 5150 Combat Fight League. On Jan. 16, he will take on Joey Beltran at the League's "New Year's Revolution," in Tulsa, Okla.
While the organization is smaller than the UFC, Alexander is okay with the transition because it brings him back to where he started.
"I'm very excited to be fighting again," Alexander told MMAJunkie.com. "Before the UFC, I was fighting every week on the smaller circuit. It keeps me sharp and focused."
When Alexander started with the UFC, he won his first two fights against Keith Jardine and Alessio Sakara. However, he went on to lose his next four Octagon fights against Thiago Silva, James Irvin, Eric Schafer and the aforementioned Kimbo Slice.
