Fresh off signing a five-fight contract with the WEC earlier this week, undefeated lightweight prospect Zack Minklewright's debut with promotion is now set, as he will take on EliteXC veteran Muhsin Corbbrey at WEC 45 on Dec. 19 in Las Vegas, NV.

Fiveknuckles.com was the first to report Minkleweight's signing with the WEC earlier this week and MMAjunkie.com followed this report with his match up against Corbbrey.

The WEC's year-end event, WEC 45, will air live on Versus and is headlined by a lightweight bout between Donald Cerrone and Ed Ratcliff.

Minkleweight has put together a 6-0 MMA record since turning pro in Oct. 2006. He has scored stoppage wins in his last five bouts, with his lone decision win coming in his first career fight.

Minklewright most recently defeated Jaxon Mayson via first round submission at Glory Fighting Championships 6 in April. He is being given a shot at the big stage after previously competing in smaller promotions such as the aforementioned Glory Fighting Championships as well as Midwest King of the Ring and Extreme Challenge.

Corbbrey (7-4) is coming off a second round TKO loss against Anthony Njokuani in his WEC debut on Oct. 10 at WEC 43. The loss was his second straight, with his previous loss coming against Nick Diaz at EliteXC: "The Return of the King" in June 2008. Corbbrey hasn't won a fight since Oct. 2007, where he defeated Bobby McMaster at a ShoXC event.

The longtime Reality Superfighting veteran aims to put on exciting fights and rarely goes the distance as he has scored stoppage wins in all but one of his seven career victories including five coming by submission.
